Snorkeling Cruise

Sunday.......sleep in?..........nope not us.........up with the birds, breakfast in our room (toast 'n peanut butter, few grapes, banana, tea.....good to go). We got ready then hopped the shuttle bus to town where we would wander around a bit until time for the Snorkeling Cruise. Almost to our destination the bus broke down.........we just got off and walked the rest of the way to the marina (not far).
George enjoyed the snorkeling while I stayed on the boat. He said the water was cold.
It was an enjoyable time with free-flowing booze, plenty to eat, lots of good photo opportunities, singing, dancing and partying.......it was a hoppin' boat.
After the cruise we went looking in the shops again (I was trying to find a dress) and finally found a shop keeper who was willing to come down to my price......but then I couldn't find a dress I liked. Needless to say he was not happy with me and told us "Get outa here".......I guess once they meet your price there is some expectation that you will buy (liking what you buy seemed to have no bearing on the expected transaction).
We caught the shuttle back to our room, ate dinner and again watched a beautiful sunset (there is no shortage of those).
We were tired but it was another nice day............(March 4, 2012)

Parasailing

Saturday...........Parasailing; probably the biggest surprise for me of the whole trip. I was nervous to go and expected to be afraid floating around up there on the end of that rope but it wasn't like that at all. It was very calm and enjoyable. I would do it again.
After our parasailing adventure we walked around the other Pueblo Bonito Resort, had a coffee at their restaurant overlooking the ocean, then George went for a swim in the salt water while I lingered over my coffee. He enjoyed it but said it was cold.
Later in the day we went shopping; I bought a small carry bag; we had dinner that evening at a little restaurant called 'El Coral'. The food was pretty good. Apparently Mexican people eat dinner around eight; we on the other hand eat dinner around five (old folkish, I know).
We caught the shuttle back to our resort, did our usual evening things, went to bed and got ready for the next days activities...........(March 3, 2012)

The Jungle Juice Was Flowing

Thursday; a brand new day; after breakfast in our room (fruit, toast 'n peanut butter, tea) we were off to town to explore a bit before we hopped the Jungle Cruise at 10:30 to do some serious Whale Watching (we thought). On board we were offered a small plate of fruit (pineapple) and a couple mini donuts along with a 'drink' (there were a few alchoholic & non-alchoholic choices)..........the popular drink became what they called 'Jungle Juice'. It was an alchoholic concoction of some sort; pretty color; got everyone going; flowed quite liberally throughout the entire three and a half hour cruise.
Shall I just say, this adventure didn't seem to hold Whale Watching as its number one priority. We did see some Whales (not a lot) and nothing close up which I was hoping for. The main objective of the Jungle Cruise seemed to be having fun.....and we did have fun.
The crew entertained us and fed us a pretty decent lunch. We got some good photo opportunities, cruised over to an area where we could go snorkeling if we wanted, then back to the dock by which time everyone on board was pretty much three sheets to the wind.
After the cruise we wandered around the town awhile (had to walk off the booze) then went shopping and George bought me a lovely new watch.
A taxi took us out to San Jose and the 'Restaurante Villa Serena' where we had a nice dinner while we looked out over the ocean. It was quite enjoyable; a quiet evening after the craziness of the 'Jungle Cruise'.
Back to the Resort and the peace of our own space to relax a bit before bed time. Sounds pretty 'old folkish' but we had no energy to be out exploring or bar hopping or partying or anything of the kind any more that particular day (and we turn into pumpkins after 10:00)............. Getting Acquainted

Attended the obligatory time share presentation at the Mayan Palace; free breakfast; some certificates for free dinners; free dinner cruise; one thousand pesos for shopping. (One hundred pesos is (give or take) equivilent to about eight dollars.) Then we were off to do our own thing. First stop the grocery store for a few supplies for sandwiches etc. then back to our resort; short ride on the golf cart (used to transport people from their rooms to other areas of the resort) to visit and explore the main swimming pool area. The pool had a swim up bar and restaurant close at hand with several waiters to take orders and who would gladly receive your tips.........very nice atmosphere to relax in.
Back in our room we made ourselves a yummy veggie sandwich for dinner.......full of all kinds of veggies and cheese......too fat to get our mouth around but tasted delicious!
We watched the sunset from our balcony, played a few games of dice, read for a while then off to bed; a tiring day.........(February 29, 2012)

We're On Our Way

Up before the birds, hop the shuttle to Seattle, board Alaska and fly off to some warm weather, sunshine and soothing sounds of the ocean washing up on the sand..........sounds heavenly and it will be I'm sure!
Thanks Robin for giving us a place to park our vehicle, a bed for the night & getting up so early to drive us to catch the bus.
Plane left on time; arrived on time; flight was good; all went without a hitch until we hit the airport in Los Cabos where the 'body snatchers' grabbed us.....that's the name they have given to the people who pounce on you as soon as you come through the door at the airport........they make commission from all the people they can entice to attend a time share presentation. Once we got through that we got our transportation to the resort in Cabo San Lucas..........a beautiful accomodation for our stay in Mexico.........(February 28, 2012)
